How to practise this subject

These practice suggestions are editorial guidance from Australian Study Resources.

  1. Open the 2025 2025 Tourism e-exam, Part A (Questions 1-4). Task focus — Four compulsory short-response questions with lettered parts: comparing two international visitor markets using survey percentages and explaining campaign differences; describing economic benefits of a football round and explaining its multiplier effect and the state government's role; applying Plog's model and cultural commodification to island tourism, justifying sustainable growth strategies and explaining limitations of Doxey's Irridex; explaining push/pull factors and the regional importance of working holiday makers and suggesting strategies to attract them. Per-question marks are not given in the Subject Assessment Advice. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  2. Open the 2025 2025 Tourism e-exam, Question 5. Task focus — Using a range of sources on whale shark tourism in a small island nation, analyse its positive and negative impacts and reach an overall judgement. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  3. Open the 2025 2025 Tourism e-exam, Question 6. Task focus — Evaluate a news article and a tourist interview for validity and bias, including how the two sources corroborate each other; the least successful question of the paper. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  4. Record the specific point you missed, write a corrected response, and attempt another question that requires the same skill. Check older material against your current course before reusing it.
