How to practise this subject

These practice suggestions are editorial guidance from Australian Study Resources.

  1. Open the 2025 Written examination, Section A Q1. Task focus — Identify the independent variable in a temperature/DNA-denaturation experiment. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  2. Open the 2025 Written examination, Section A Q2. Task focus — Interpret a temperature-vs-activity graph to identify which level of haemoglobin's protein structure is disrupted at a given temperature range. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  3. Open the 2025 Written examination, Section A Q14-21. Task focus — A run of questions covering leaf arrangement and light capture, actual vs theoretical ATP yield, fermentation pathways producing acetic acid, inputs/outputs of photosynthesis and respiration stages, trends across limiting factors, and competitive enzyme inhibition of ATP synthase. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
  4. Record the specific point you missed, write a corrected response, and attempt another question that requires the same skill. Check older material against your current course before reusing it.

Plan your next practice session

Choose one explanation from your practice sequence. Separate what was observed from the explanation you propose, then identify a condition or limitation that affects the conclusion.
