Official curriculum and assessment
To start WACE Geography revision, open the 2025 examination report (PDF). Use the official resources below to choose a task, attempt it independently and check your response against the available assessment guidance. The practice sequence below explains how to turn that review into a focused next attempt. Confirm the paper’s course and syllabus year before using it.
How to practise this subject
These practice suggestions are editorial guidance from Australian Study Resources.
- Open the 2025 Written examination, Section One Q1-12. Task focus — Twelve MC items on a Perth-SE 1:25 000 topographic map: scale as a written statement, a hydrological feature and a landform at grid references, the dominant land use in an area reference, contour interval, slope shape along a park, area of a racecourse across three squares, a bearing between two airport features, latitude/longitude of a shopping centre, a feature located by distance and direction, the strongest spatial relationship in a grid block and an average gradient. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
- Open the 2025 Written examination, Section One Q18-20. Task focus — Definition items: mitigation, intensification of agriculture and inertia. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
- Open the 2025 Written examination, Q24. Task focus — Internal choice: describe the spatial distribution of high and low temperatures from a world map, or of two major biomes from a biome map. Attempt it before consulting the marking guidance, then identify the evidence or working that supports your answer.
- Record the specific point you missed, write a corrected response, and attempt another question that requires the same skill. Check older material against your current course before reusing it.
Plan your next practice session
